The Language of Flowers

The Language of Flowers

Session: Scents and Design | 6:30-8:00PM

Scents for Creativity is a unique approach to design elements using aromas. Many artists have some form of synesthesia where the senses perceive inputs as mixed signals. Discover why the same aroma might register as a bright color to one person, a smooth texture to another or loud sound to someone else. How can olfaction be used in the burgeoning field of neuroaesthetics and its future effects on how we perceive art and design? Come learn about the magic of flowers and their scents and their effect on humans and their emotions. Guests will enjoy interacting with a variety of scents with non-perfumery design elements.

Aura Readings

Aura Readings

Schedule a private session with clairvoyant Yosh Han. Much like getting an x-ray, getting a reading is an overview of what is happening to your spiritual body. The readings are done sitting across from each other while Yosh reads your energy, like watching a movie of your life. Yosh focuses her attention on attributes that are most potent and transformative. During these sessions, questions may arise. Her format is simple; she reads the layers of the aura as they relate to the 7 chakras, the energy wheels in your spiritual body. Sometimes spirit guides or ancestors may appear in the readings. Each guest will receive a golden sun energy healing with Scent of Symbiosis, the signature aura spray for The Art of Bloom.

Hearts & Flowers Scent(sory) Dinner

Hearts & Flowers Scent(sory) Dinner

The Art of Bloom invites you to Hearts & Flowers.

The Art of Bloom culminates with the Hearts & Flowers Scent(sory) Dinner and takes a deeper look at how flowers awaken our senses, convey our emotions and create a space that allows for connection with each other.

The scent Symbiosis was inspired by a collaboration between perfumer Yosh Han and The Art of Bloom’s Creative Director, Daigo Daikoku. They created an aroma to evoke the feeling of “two friends walking silently in the woods.”

To engage the senses further, Symbiosis has been re-imagined and re-interpreted by Yosh and James Beard rising star, Chef Erik Bruner-Yang. Yosh deconstructed the elements of the fragrance and collaborated with Chef Erik to create this multi-sensory dinner.

Each plate is inspired by a different emotion and its corresponding flower and essence from the scent of Symbiosis. Citrus sunshine and botanical herbs, the top notes in the fragrance, have been interpreted into the first two courses. An olfactive interlude refreshes the palate before the jasmine heart note is presented in the third course. Chef Erik’s unique culinary style builds on the layers of the ingredients and surprises us with a fusion of technique and style. Silk Road spices and exotic woods from the base notes are reinterpreted as rich flavors in the fourth and fifth course. The grand finale dessert is expressed in two ways, marrying all the ingredients conjured up by Erik’s culinary talents.

The seven course dinner features ingredients from hand-picked purveyors and culinary sponsors like Sun Noodles and Magic Hour Tea. The wines have been chosen to complement the courses to maximize the flavors and aromas.

This culinary experience seeks to deepen the connection between flowers, botanical intelligence, and human emotions.
